DISCIPLESHIP: HELPING PEOPLE TO KNOW, TO APPLY, AND BE EFFECTIVE WITH GOD’S WORD
At Breath of Life Church, we seek to develop and train warriors to advance the Kingdom of God on this earth – one-on-one discipleship is one of the many ways we do this.
Our purpose in life is to be His disciples and live out the Great Commission. Jesus' desire is that people would get to know Him intimately, learn his ways, and choose to follow Him. He commanded us to make disciples with this statement: “Go therefore and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19–20)
A disciple is someone who loves, follows, and joins Jesus on His mission. Jesus did a great job at this, so we want to follow His example of how to make disciples.
At Breath Of Life, we make disciples following Jesus' model. We equip others to do the same by keeping our discipleship classes simple but relevant. We recognize that we’re on a beautiful journey of being refined by His Word and Spirit. This is a process from conversion, baptism, and learning about the ways of Jesus and how to follow Him daily— as well as teaching others how to also grow in spiritual maturity. We accomplish this together as a church body.
