BECOME A CHRISTIAN

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?

The word “Christian” comes from the Greek word “christianos”, meaning “little Christ”. In fact, the Bible says in Acts 11:36:

 

“(…) So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” 

 

They were called Christians because they believed in Jesus Christ AND because they chose to go after the mission that was given to them (and to us): to represent Christ and make Him known!

SO, WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN?

God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. He wants you to receive eternal life. The only thing that separates you from God is sin (those things we do and selfish choices we make that fail to meet God’s standards for holiness). 

 

Sinning does not make you a sinner. We are all sinners that is why we sin. Only God can rescue us from our sins. We can’t be good enough. We can’t work for it. Because He loves so much, He designed a plan to do just that. He sent Jesus, His only son, who died on the cross and rose from the grave to pay the price for our sin.

Choosing to become a Christian allows you to enjoy peace with God, and know that you will spend eternity with Him.

THERE ARE THREE THINGS YOU MUST UNDERSTAND AND DO:

Admit you have sinned and ask God for forgiveness.


Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the dead.


Confess that Jesus is Lord, receive Him into your life as your Savior and choose to follow him daily.

HERE IS A SIMPLE PRAYER THAT YOU MAY FIND HELPFUL …

“Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned against you. I ask you right now to forgive me off all my sins. The ones I can remember and the ones I can’t. I ask you now Jesus to come in to my heart and be the Lord of my life. Fill me with you Spirit, teach me from your word and help me live for you. Thank you for my salvation and my eternal life. Amen.”
